Your Selection

Unusually for a cadet programme you can join before you start any flight training, or at several points along the way. Before we’ll offer you a place though, we will ask you to complete our comprehensive selection. The reason for this is that we want to make sure that this is the right programme for you; we don’t want you to commit to significant financial risk before you find that out!

The selection process is straightforward, consisting of three steps.

First here is the online selection form to complete. When you submit this, we will check whether you meet the minimum requirements for the programme and the employers. If you don’t, we’ll advise you what you need to do to meet them. If you do, we’ll invite you to complete the next two steps.

The second part comprises some on-line tests. Finally, we’ll invite you for a selection day; currently held at our selection centre near to Bristol in the UK. The day consists of a group exercise, an interview, and individual planning exercise and a series of aptitude tests.

First Officer, Thomas Cook

“Training with Wings Alliance schools cost me only £37,100 from my first flight to a job with Thomas Cook.”

You’ll also have the opportunity to meet other applicants and to quiz the Wings Alliance staff on any aspect of the programme and meet the programme manager who will discuss with you your training options and anything else you need to know.

The cost of the selection is £295 (about €335), but you are not committed to this until we have offered you a place on a selection day.

We are often asked how to prepare for selection, so have prepared this detailed selection guide.
